Our guest speaker, Ball State graduate Megan Sharp, recently returned from a year in India. While working on a project concerning water quality, she lived in a community with conservative Christians. Upon completion of her project, she used her own time to explore the culture of India and to develop an appreciation of Hinduism, including visiting its festivals and holy sites. You will not want to miss her remarkable story on how India broadened her view of spirituality.

Rev. Cynthia Landrum published a marvelous little essay in UU World, Winter 2009, pp 20-22, (or read it online at this link) with the above title. She writes "As an agnostic, I'm definitely an atheist about some gods. But what kind of God might be possible?" She believes that if there is a God...

• God does not choose sides in human wars.
• God does not save some people from disease while letting others die.
• God does not damn anyone.
• God does not demand faith in God.

Rev. Landrum describes not only the type of God she believes is possible, but the type of prayer she finds useful. Discussion leader: Paul Stout.
